Hamilton, Bermuda (September 10, 2023) - The Argus Group has released its third annual Sustainability Report, charting meaningful progress in addressing challenges including climate change and social equity. The focus is on how Argus is living its purpose to be “a powerful force for sustainable wellbeing” by embedding enterprise-wide, material changes that benefit their people and the planet.

Featured are efforts to ensure a fair and rewarding workplace by challenging bias and investing in training and professional development, driving change through employee, customer, shareholder and partner feedback, and embedding climate change at all levels of the business.

One of the highlights is the completion of the 130-solar panel installation at the Argus Group headquarters in Hamilton, generating renewable energy to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. Another is independent recognition of the work of the Belong BLAC (Black Leaders and Allies for Change) Committee for its leadership in embedding and strengthening sustainable anti-racism and diversity practices across the Group.

Kimberley Caines-Best, Sustainability Management Committee Chair and Associate General Counsel, said: “Sustainability is a process of continuous responsiveness, driving our quest for ongoing improvement. Through engaging, listening and learning, we will strive to meet the evolving needs and expectations of employees, customers, shareholders and the communities we serve.”

Other areas of notable progress include:

  • Charitable Contributions: Contributed over $357,000 to various charitable causes.
  • Employee Development: Invested $214,000 in talent development, delivering 250 hours of coaching, leadership training, and educational sessions.
  • Community Wellbeing: Launched and supported several initiatives, including the second annual Argus Running Club, fitness classes, and sponsorship of various sporting events.
  • Carbon Footprint: Began capturing data for Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions across our global operations.

Alison Hill, CEO, the Argus Group, said: “At the core of our business ethos is prioritising the wellbeing of our people, a principle that is a natural fit with sustainability.
